Abstract
This is a Spanish version. This case introduces the student to Ernestina whose entrepreneurial spirit has led her to create a successful clothing company even in the face of increasing competition. The case is situated in the 1980s, in Arica Chile, when women had few resources or support to start new businesses. The case focuses on Ernestina and her pathway to identifying an idea and how the purchase of a single resource - a sewing machine - can be the start of an entrepreneurial career. The question is what's next for Ernestina? This case is part of the Babson College free case collection (visit www.thecasecentre.org/babsonfreecases for more information on the collection).
